Apprenticeships
As employees, apprentices earn a wage and work alongside experienced staff to gain job-specific skills. Off the job, usually on a day-release basis, apprentices receive training to work towards nationally recognised qualifications. Anyone living in England, over 16 and not in full-time education can apply. Apprenticeships can take between one and four years to complete depending on the level of Apprenticeship, the apprentices’ ability and the industry sector. There is a minimum salary per week; however, many apprentices earn significantly more. Lantra Sector Skills Council.
BAGMA works with industry partners, colleges and other training providers to encourage apprentices to join industry and to support them and the various training establishments that provide apprentice training through worked based and centre based programmes in the agricultural, ground care and garden machinery industry.
BAGMA’s long history of involvement with apprentices is currently being updated and our new web pages will grow to reflect our continued support and encouragement in attracting new and young people to an industry that increasingly needs highly trained and motivated people.
