Funding

Apprenticeship programmes are partly funded by government through centre based or college programmes where places are provided by the college and the college claims for the funding. Where an apprentice is employed and is ‘work based’ the employer will allow the apprentice time off to attend college on block or day release courses and will normally fund his or her travelling, accomadation and subsistence and may also pay him or her while he or she is training.
